I am very excited to announce that I will be exhibiting at the BluePrint Show in New York this year for the first time. If you are going to be in New York for the shows, please stop by my booth and say hi. I would love to meet you!
For the past few weeks, I have been working on my entry for Lilla Roger's Studio Global Talent Search. Lilla has such wonderful briefs, I look forward to her GTS every year. This year the theme was tea and we were asked to design a teacup, plate/saucer and a napkin. She provided tons of wonderful reference/inspiration and encouraged us to design in a style that we love. I really would love to illustrate children's picture books, so I chose to create my piece around that theme. I had a lot of fun creating this entry and hope that you can feel my joy in each piece. If you would like to check out some of the other pieces, Lilla will announce the top 50 finalist on Friday Aug 19th at www.lillarogers.com or you can check out the hashtag #globaltalentsearch2016 on Instagram. Enjoy! - xx Kerrie
Looking back at 2015, this was definitely a favorite!
May 2016 bring Peace, Love and Joy to all!
This past summer I took Lilla Rogers and Margo Tantau's Make Art That Sells Home Decor course. It is the fourth in a series of amazing classes from Lilla Rogers and it truly went above and beyond all of my expectations. Lilla and Margo make such a wonderful team, not only is their expertise and content amazing, they are also so fun and inspiring to watch together. I would highly recommend this course if you are interested in licensing your art for home decor. I will warn you though, by the end of class I had learned so much that I wanted to immediately go back and re-do all of my assignments! It lit a creative fire in me, which in my book makes the class worth every penny. :)
I am super excited about this months MATS Bootcamp with Lilla Rogers. The assignment was to design bolt fabric with the theme of Jello. At first I was not sure how I was going to approach Jello but then I started researching vintage Jello molds and became really inspired by all of the wonderful shapes, pattern and styles. It turned out to be such a creative, fun theme with so much possibility. Thanks Lilla!!! I am loving Bootcamp.
