This March, Artereal Gallery is excited to present Class of ’22, a group exhibition showcasing our pick of some of the rising stars from the 2022 art school graduate shows across Sydney. Attending the end of year grad shows at the National Art School, Sydney College of the Arts and UNSW Art & Design is always a highlight for the Artereal curatorial team and we had a lot of fun compiling this list of artists whose work we thought really shone. United by a strong attraction towards the pull of the paintbrush, the artists in this exhibition present a cross-section of works spanning hand glazed ceramics, painting and delicate ink drawing. Interestingly, another common thread between many of their practices is an affinity for the natural world and abstract representations of self.
Featuring work by Krystl Durant, Billie Posters, Kerrie Satava and Gabe Wahl, this exhibition offers a glimpse at what the next generation of emerging artists are currently working on and is a rare opportunity to acquire the work of an artist at a point in their career which is often both formative and prescient when viewed in hindsight.
Having established a strong reputation over the last 17 years for presenting the work of emerging artists, many who have gone on to become well established artistic figures within the Australian contemporary art world, Artereal Gallery is proud to present the Class of ’22.
